Around 10pm today a box alarm was struck for a house fire in the 300 block of Honeylocust Square in the Rosewood Terrace section of the township consisting of units from 63, 61 (Upper Leacock running from the Witmer Station due to Witmer being on a company event) 41 (Bird in Hand), 48 (Ronks) and EMS 6. Chief 63-2 (Keens) arrived and reported a middle-of-the-row townhouse with a working kitchen fire. Engine 63-1 was first in and the crew advanced a handline into the home and attacked the fire. Tower 63 was second arriving and the crew split between primary search, ventilation and throwing ladders. Engine 63-2 was third arriving and established a water supply for Engine 1 then the crew went to work inside as well. Additional arriving mutual aid crews were initially staged then used for various fireground tasks. Engine 48-2 had the RIT assignment. One resident was treated for smoke inhalation and the home suffered moderate damage.
