Just after 0800, Station 63 and Lancaster EMS were dispatched to the 2200 block of Lincoln Highway East for a vehicle accident with injuries. While en route to the location, the police department advised they had one person trapped in their vehicle and a large debris field. Engine 63-1 arrived, confirmed the report, and requested the assignment to be upgraded to an entrapment crash. The upgrade alerted Witmer Fire Company for Engine 62-2 and Ronks Fire Company for Rescue 48. Crews from all three stations worked together to free the trapped occupant by removing the vehicle’s doors and roof. Additionally, companies worked together to control hazards and assist with patient care. The extrication was completed in 12 minutes.
