The LFC is proud to announce that we have placed in service a “new” used duty vehicle. The “buggy”, as they are called in the fire service, is a 2008 Ford Expedition. It previously served Manheim Borough, PA as a police and codes department vehicle.
The vehicle was upfitted with warning lights from the previous buggy by FF Peter Drabinski and the lettering was done by Creative Signworks in Lancaster, PA. The unit features an iPad with our pre-plan information, a command console, SCBA for the duty officer, and an AED. The vehicle will be rotated by the Line Officers to use for Incident Command at our calls.
The vehicle was purchased after our used 2006 Ford Explorer suffered a catastrophic engine failure in late March and had to be disposed of.
