Just after 3am this morning Units from 63, 62 (Witmer) and 48 (Ronks) were sent to the 1600 block of Lincoln Highway in Bridgeport for a crash with one trapped. During the response the police arrived and updated the location to the first block of Lampeter Rd. placing the crash in West Lampeter Twp. Co. 54 (Lampeter) and 50 (Willow Street) were then dispatched. Deputy 63 (Keens) arrived and reported an SUV that had struck a tractor-trailer and confirmed the SUV driver to be trapped. Engine 63-1 arrived and went to work with the hydraulic tools performing a double door removal, windshield removal and dash displacement to extricate the driver. Rescue 48 was second to arrive and assisted with additional hydraulic tools. Engine 54-3 was assigned to place a protection handline in service. The driver was extricated in 10 minutes and the incident was held to units from 54 with Co. 63 returning to service.
