Around 10am this morning units from 62 (Witmer), 20 (Manheim Twp.) and Tower 63 were sent to a property in the 2000 block of Creek Hill Rd. for a residential rescue call. Truck 204 running as the heavy rescue arrived to find a female patient who had fallen through a rotten floorboard into an abandoned cistern under the home. Crews worked to remove the rest of the floor while two members from 20 were lowered into the cistern to attend to the patient. The balance of the personnel from all 3 companies erected a rope haul system using a tripod over the opening. The patient was removed from the cistern in 50 minutes and suffered minor injuries.
