Around 6:45am this morning, Co. 63 was alerted as part of the first alarm box for a house fire in the area of New Holland Pike and Mondale Rd. in East Lampeter Twp. (62 First Due). Engine 63-1 was just clearing a fire alarm and was enroute right away. Tower 63 followed from the station. E63-1 was the second arriving engine company behind Engine 204 (MTFR) and found a working house fire. Crews ran the 400′ line to the rear and made an attack on the fire while the 204 and 62 crews entered from the front. Tower 63 was the first arriving Truck, took the A side and the crew went to work throwing ladders and venting the roof. Squad 63-2 also responded with the Fire Police and worked to shut Rt. 23 down for the duration of the fire. 63 personnel were on the scene for over 4 hours. Thank you to Co. 54 (Lampeter) for covering our station while we were out.
