Our 2nd annual Fasnachts for Fassnacht event is live! Preorder your fasnachts (1 dozen powdered/glazed mix sourced from Bird-in-Hand Bakery). We will have limited sales of Fasnachts for drive-thru pickup February 15th 5-7pm and February 16th 6-10am. While we celebrate Fasnacht Day, we also are celebrating the life of our late member, Jan Fasnacht, who was an extraordinary community servant serving as an East Lampeter Township police officer, local EMS provider and Lafayette volunteer. His legacy lives on at Lafayette, as his wife Coral serves as an associate member, m his two sons, Brett & Alec, are firefighters, and new to Lafayette in 2020 is his niece, Kari Malmer, an associate member. Just after rush hour, Engine and Truck Company 63 were dispatched to the area of Old Philadelphia Pike and Sage Drive for a reported Chimney Fire, with mutual aid from Witmer Fire Protective Association and Bird-in-Hand Fire Company.

Upon the arrival of Chief 62 (Sherman) and Lieutenant 63-1 (Long) the residence was located closer to Old Philadelphia Pike and Backwalter Road, making it a Company 62 call.

Truck 63 sent the bucket to the roof to examine the chimney for any fire that remained in it, while engine companies removed the burning material from inside of the residence.

Be sure to have your chimneys cleaned and inspected annually!
