Just prior to 15:00 hours, the LFC was sent to Lincoln Highway East at the entrance to Tanger Outlets for an accident with injuries. Engine 63-1 responded with five volunteers and made their way to the scene with Lancaster EMS and East Lampeter Township PD. Upon the arrival of Engine 63-1, the crew found no hazards and one minor injury. The crew provided patient care for a few minutes until EMS arrived and then held a blocking position for the safety of the police and EMS.
As Engine 63-1 was wrapping up at the scene of the crash, a dispatcher at the fire alarm office radioed the crew to advise of a second call in our district for another motor vehicle accident. Additional information on the second call reported a motorcyclist lost control on South Oakview Road and crashed into a utility pole near the entrance to Gabe’s at East Towne Mall. Engine 63-1 quickly picked up from the first accident and responded to the second one. Medic 6-8 of Lancaster EMS arrived at the second crash ahead of the engine and already had the patient loaded into the ambulance. Engine 63-1’s crew took care of some minor spill control and debris removal before clearing.
