Tuesday evening brought the second working fire for the LFC. At 18:25 hours, Engine 63-2 was dispatched as part of the first alarm assignment to 1631 Morningside Drive in Company 54’s area for a reported house fire. Engine 63-2 made the response with six personnel within two minutes. Engine 63-2 crew arrived and was ordered to advance an attack line to the interior. Due to heavy content, the engine crew had trouble advancing through the house and up the stairs. Additional arriving companies attempted to attack the fire from the porch roof. Again, due to heavy content, the fire attack was hampered. Truck 63 also responded on the run and was utilized to open the roof to attempt to gain access to additional pockets of fire. Crews operated on location for 3 hours.
