The Lafayette Fire Company is proud to announce that we have signed a contract with Pierce Manufacturing to build us a new custom fire engine. The new unit will be a 2021 Pierce Enforcer with a 2000 gallon-per-minute Waterous pump and a 500 gallon tank. It will be powered by a Cummins 450hp motor and is designed to be a structural fire attack engine. This unit will replace our 1978 Mack pumper which has served us for over 40 years. We would like to thank the new engine committee, Glick’s Fire Equipement, the East Lampeter Township Board of Supervisors, and our community for making this project possible. The new rig will cost $598,000. We expect delivery in about a year. Look for updates as the unit begins construction.
