Just after rush hour, Engine and Truck Company 63 were dispatched to the area of Old Philadelphia Pike and Sage Drive for a reported Chimney Fire, with mutual aid from Witmer Fire Protective Association and Bird-in-Hand Fire Company.

Upon the arrival of Chief 62 (Sherman) and Lieutenant 63-1 (Long) the residence was located closer to Old Philadelphia Pike and Backwalter Road, making it a Company 62 call.

Truck 63 sent the bucket to the roof to examine the chimney for any fire that remained in it, while engine companies removed the burning material from inside of the residence.

Be sure to have your chimneys cleaned and inspected annually!
