Late this morning, the Strasburg Fire Company was dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at the Strasburg Creamery in the town square. A Chief Officer from Station 5 arrived and found an increasing smoke condition in the building. He requested the assignment be upgraded to a structure fire which alerted the LFC for Truck 63.
Truck 63 made the response with 4 firefighters. Upon our arrival, the truck was positioned on the “delta” side of the building along Route 896. The crew was ordered inside to check HVAC units in the attic. The problem was eventually found in the furnace in the basement. The problem area was secured and the building was ventilated. Truck 63 returned after about 30 minutes of being on location.
