Every time there is a 5th Monday in the month, the East Lampeter Township fire companies get together for a township-wide drill. This past Monday, Bird-In-Hand hosted a rural water supply drill at a farm on Siegrist Road. Engine 63-2 was used to draft from a tributary on the property and Truck 63 was set up as an elevated master stream. Engine 63-1 stood by to cover any calls that occurred in the township while units were operating at the drill. Several area tankers were also invited to run a water shuttle for the duration of the event.
